March Madness is here! Even if you’re not a die-hard basketball fan, it’s easy to get swept up in the fun of filling out your bracket and watching some upsets and buzzer beaters. This year there are three teams representing the Lone Star State in the NCAA tournament: Southern Methodist, Baylor, and Texas Southern.

As you cheer on the Texas teams — or your own alma mater — we’ve got basketball-themed cookies and cupcakes ready to help you serve up some delicious fun wherever you gather to watch the game. We can also make a custom sheet cake decorated with your favorite team’s colors, so give us a call to help plan your March Madness party today!

    Montgomery Bakehouse’s Final Four

For some extra March Madness fun, we’ve done our own selections for a delicious competition: the Final Four of baked goods! We know everyone has their favorite sweet treat, and we were curious about how they’d stack up in a head-to-head competition. We’ve narrowed the field to the final four favorites from each region. Is yours represented?

    East Bracket

Boston Cream Pie. Despite its name, Boston Cream Pie isn’t a pie at all. It’s actually a classic cake layered with vanilla custard and finished with chocolate. This smooth, creamy treat is a diner staple in the Northeast, and we love it, too!

    18

    South Bracket

Pecan Pie. It doesn’t get more Southern than Pecan Pie! We’ve got them in three different sizes, and this rich, nutty filling on a pastry crust is always a crowd favorite. It’s a true Southern comfort food!

    03

    Midwest Bracket

Raspberry Swirl Cheesecake. America’s great dairy farms in this region make our Raspberry Swirl Cheesecake possible! This traditional cheesecake is dressed up with chocolate curls, whipped cream and raspberry jam.

    06

    West Bracket

Lemon Meringue Pie. From the citrus groves of California comes our light and airy Lemon Meringue Pie. It’s the perfect combination of sweet and sour, and you’ll love the melt-in-your-mouth texture.

Thanksgiving Sweets and Treats – We’ve Got You Covered!

Ok, we’ll admit it — Thanksgiving might just be our favorite holiday! After a junk food-fueled Halloween, it’s nice to get back to some wholesome, homemade treats instead, and a great meal with your family is the perfect way to relax and reconnect before the craziness of the December holiday season.

Still, preparing a feast for friends and family is no small task. You’ve got to get a turkey big enough for leftovers — but small enough for your oven! — not to mention planning all those side dishes and desserts. It’s enough to make even Martha Stewart’s head spin.

Madi decorating cakes at the bakery

We will be in our new location by graduation time, so stop by to pick up your cake and to check out the new building. The address is 240 Longmire. Graduation is also a special time for us because some of our employees will be graduating, and they always mean so much to our business and to our family. We are so excited for our high school seniors who will be moving on to a new stage in their lives. One of our seniors, Madi, has worked for us for five years now. She is going to be attending Lone star College in the fall. She currently is learning how to decorate, and she already decorates many of the cakes at the bakery. Madi’s favorite thing about working at the bakery is getting to draw on the cakes and being around the Schenk family. Another one of our seniors is Kaitlynn, the daughter of the Schenk’s.

Kaitlynn was ten years old when we opened the bakery, and has been working in the family business since then. Kaitlynn is attending Hillsdale College in the fall to major in economics. Kaitlynn’s favorite thing about working at the bakery is getting to talk to all of our wonderful customers. We are so proud of what each of these girls have accomplished, and we cannot wait to see what God has planned for their futures. I am sure you are proud of what your seniors have accomplished too, so do not forget to order that special graduation cake to reward all of their hard work throughout their high school careers.

  • Special Event on February 18th!

    Special Event on February 18th!

This Thursday, February 18th, we will be closing early at 5 p.m. This is a special event that we are inviting you to as well! The FullSizeRender (2)speaker Tim Barton from the organization Wallbuilders is coming to speak at Fellowship of Montgomery on Thursday night at 6 p.m. This is a great opportunity to hear a speaker that travels around the country to share his wisdom. He is speaking on current issues occurring in America today. We are closing early, so our employees can attend this event to give them the opportunity to hear a speaker that is knowledgeable on current events and has relevant answers. He will also be looking at results of different policies that have been implemented and why they d+o or do not work. It is so important to stay up to date with what is happening in our government and to learn the facts behind every current issue. We want to not only give our employees that opportunity, but to also extend the invitation to you as well. Wallbuilders is an organization that seeks to educate people on current issues, and what the founding fathers had to say about them through examining original quotes and original documents. This is an organization that we as a family support and appreciate everything they do. You can learn more about the work that Wallbuilders does here. The address of Fellowship of Montgomery is 12681 fm 149 Rd. Montgomery, Tx 77316. The event will be on our Facebook page for you to check out and share with your friends. There will also be desserts from the Bakehouse at the event, so if untitledyou stop by the bakery for some desserts, just head over to the church to get some and listen to an awesome speaker. You can call to leave us a message, and we will get back to you on Friday morning. Our number is 936-756-1745. We will be open normal hours for the rest of the week. We would love for you to join us on Thursday at 6 p.m.
